Business process veteran Michael Riek joins Charles Aris Inc.’s tech practice

by Emily Bennett
Marketing Intern at Charles Aris Inc.

International executive search firm Charles Aris Inc. has expanded its recruitment services with the addition of Michael Riek as a technology practice leader. Riek will identify and recruit senior leaders in business process services (BPS), business process outsourcing (BPO) and contact centers. He will team with Charles Aris vice president Steven Stewart, who leads the firm’s technology, media and telecom (TMT) recruiting efforts.

“I’m excited to partner with Steven, who brings a wealth of executive search experience to the table while focused in the technology vertical,” Riek said. “Our combined experience will position us well to grow the practice.”

Prior to joining the firm, Riek started several global business process outsourcing companies focused on inbound customer care, technical support and back-office support programs. He also established contact centers in Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, India and the United States.

Riek’s expertise in the technology and telecom space bodes well for Charles Aris, where senior leaders are excited to pair Riek’s experience building companies from the ground up with the firm’s 14-Step Priority Search Process. Together, they’ll look to continue to deliver world-class talent to client organizations.

“We’re excited about Michael joining the TMT practice,” Stewart said. “With his deep understanding of contact centers, BPS and BPO – coupled with the vast number of captive and outsourced business processes in the TMT space – Michael is an invaluable addition to the team, both for the clients we serve and Charles Aris as well.”

Riek earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) and his MBA degree from Wake Forest University. Married since 1997, Riek and his wife, Cecilia, have four sons: Harrison, Henry, Michael Jr. and Owen. When he’s not in the office, Riek enjoys coaching and playing sports with his family. He also teaches entrepreneurship and global sustainability courses in UNCG’s Bryan School of Business & Economics.
