Charles Aris stands apart from other search firms for four fundamental reasons: our expertise; our execution; our focus on cultural fit; and our world-class deliverables. Our constant aim: Deliver A-players who will continue to successfully move organizations of all types well into the future.

Where do you come in? Perhaps it’s time to develop your entrepreneurial skills with an internship in executive recruiting!

The Charles Aris recruiting internship experience

Our search project teams execute the firm’s tried-and-true 14-Step Priority Search Process, starting the day we collaborate with the client hiring authority on assignment specifications right through the winning candidate’s first day on the job in her new organization. Each of our associate recruiters serves as the primary contact for candidates, working diligently to find the best technical and cultural fit for client and candidate alike.

Charles Aris search consultants spend much of their time conducting meaningful conversations with potential candidates; researching and marketing to the world’s top talent; and managing client portals, where our team and our clients’ hiring authorities convene each week to review the progress of every search.

Our recruiters play an integral role in a challenging, fast-paced professional workplace – and they just might need your assistance. As a Charles Aris recruiting intern, you would have the opportunity to:

  • contribute to the progress of nearly every step of our 14-Step Priority Search Process
  • create client-facing deliverables for Fortune 500 firms and emerging industry leaders
  • conduct research for active searches
  • shadow your recruiting mentor during conversations with hiring authorities and prospective candidates
  • and ultimately orchestrate your own conversations with prospective candidates

Gene Mance Jr., a Summer 2018 recruiting intern and senior at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, sees great value in his enriching experience at Charles Aris.

“ ‘Exciting, motivating, fast-paced and rewarding’ are just a few words that describe my internship,” Mance said. “Every day I come in excited to work with such talented and driven people. When talking with clients and candidates, you never know what you’re going to get – and for me that’s exhilarating. In my short time at Charles Aris, I’ve learned that if you have grit, passion and a willingness to take charge of your own success, you have a great opportunity to excel at the firm.”

The value of a Charles Aris recruiting internship

Our internship program features the type of access and hands-on experience you’d be hard-pressed to replicate anywhere else. Each recruiting intern is assigned a mentor among our full-time executive recruiters. Interns shadow these recruiters throughout the semester or summer and are exposed to every step of our search process.

As an intern, you might contribute to everything from prepping for client calls to drafting scripts for client update sessions to perhaps even landing on the phone yourself. This recruiting team role provides glimpses of a variety of industries and organizations, helping students develop business acumen for any field they eventually enter.

Devin Treger, a 2018 Spring recruiting intern who joined Charles Aris as a full-time associate recruiter upon graduation, knows firsthand what the program can do for students who are driven to excel.

“Whether you plan to be a recruiter or not, this internship is one of the best ways to get exposure to the business world, as well as to senior leaders both internally and externally,” Treger said. “It’s a collaborative and faced-paced environment where you can and should take advantage of every single opportunity and resource Charles Aris offers. Expect to work hard, learn a lot and discover whether executive recruiting is the career path for you.”
